Someone has put together an entire page about Bob Dylan’s 1965 press conference in San Francisco, complete with many photos… and my Examiner article in its entirety.

A regretful confession: when I was sent to cover this event, I actually had no idea who Dylan was. I actually thought I was going to see the actor who played Marshall Dillon, James Arness. There’s really no excuse for it, I should have known, but there it is.

Needless to say, I got up to speed quickly. But when I wrote up my article, I neglected to include a very telling detail – Dylan was asked who his favourite poet was, and he named Rimbaud. I completely neglected to include it.

For those who are interested, the press conference in its entirety is available on DVD.
